Did you know?
- The coloration of the blue sheep allows it to remain camouflaged within its natural landscape, helping it evade predators. These animals only flee when they perceive that they have no other option.
- Listed as a threatened species on the IUCN Red List since 2003, the blue sheep is under protection in Sichuan province. According to estimates from 1997, fewer than 200 individuals remain.
- Despite its name, the blue sheep is not closely related to domestic sheep, nor does it have a blue hue.
